Ahhh, the joys of motherhood!
So, this probably ranks up there as one of my most embarrassing moments. I had to play the piano at church yesterday. During the message I was burping Carter and all of the sudden I felt something warm running down my stomach. I looked down and to my surprise I found baby mess (that is what Justin's grandpa affectionately called baby bowel movements) running down my stomach and landing in a little puddle on my pants. I was stuck back in the office, no diaper bag in sight, with baby mess all over the place and I had no idea what to do next. Luckily, there is a bathroom attached to the office so I ran in there and found a roll of paper towels. I half-heartedly wiped myself off then proceeded to wrap my son in paper towels (much like a mummy) so I could run out to the auditorium and get the diaper bag. Meanwhile, Carter is just as happy as can be. After getting the diaper bag, I went back into the office and laid Carter on a blanket to get him cleaned up. Thankfully, I had remembered to bring a change of clothes for him! I changed his diaper and clothes, then wiped myself off, as best I could, with some baby wipes. I managed to get all of this done and still make it back up to the piano to play the closing song. After church we did the usual... visit with everyone until we are the last to leave. In the car, on the way to lunch, Justin looked at me and said "what's that on the side of your face?" I looked in the mirror and what did I see? You guessed it... baby mess. Ahhh, the joys of motherhood!
