It seems like our life is full of new adventures right now...
Adventure #1 - Writing a blog. This is the last thing I ever thought I'd do. However, I have been so enthralled with reading a few of my friends blogs that I thought I would try this out for myself. (Thanks for the encouragement Amanda!) I can't promise that I'll ever write anything profound but hopefully it will be entertaining and keep you up to date on what's happening with us.
Adventure #2 - Justin and his dad are in the process of starting their own business. They will be doing financial/retirement planning and selling insurance, mutual funds, and other financial products. We are putting the finishing touches on remodeling an old pizza building and turning it into their new office. It looks great and I think it will be wonderful for Justin to have an office again.
Adventure #3- Adding a laundry room onto our house. For some odd reason the people that built our house did not build any laundry facilities into the house. The washer and dryer have been housed in our detatched garage. It's been a pain to walk all the way out to the dirty garage to do laundry. So, we are finally adding a laundry room on the back of the house. Justin hired some guys to frame it out and take care of all the "outside stuff." They finished back in January. So, now Justin has to hook up the plumbing, wire the room for electricity, sheetrock, and do something with the floors. It's been a little slow going but we're getting there. The plumbing is done and the electricity is almost done. It will be so nice when it's finished.
Adventure #4- By far, our biggest and most fulfilling adventure... Parenthood. As I'm sure you know, our first little boy, Carter, joined our family in December. He is an absolute joy and such a sweet addition to our family. I am totally in love and I am so thankful that I get to be his mommy. His new thing is to start crying anytime anyone but Justin, Jill (Justin's mom), or myself tries to hold him. I know that at some point we will have to break him of this, but for right now it warms my heart that he wants his mommy and daddy so much. Carter is sleeping peacefully on the couch next to me so I better get some things done before he wakes up. I'll write more later...
